Chitra is an artists & educator. She was raised in India and Kuwait which has had an infinite influence on her work involving conformity and belonging among a community. Her work is largely autobiographical revolving around the stories of strength and resilience from those around her.
‘Augmented Realities’ highlights the significance of resilience and resistance as a woman which has been symbolized through the materials in her paintings and experimenting with AR (augmented reality) design, motion graphics and 3D interactive sculptural processes. Her personal mediums of preference have been oil and acrylic painting methods where here she has challenged herself to expand on conceptual frameworks providing a new visual dialogue within her work. Chitra’s hope is to convey stories of resilience and extraordinary perseverance in everyday lives and people, with the hopes to inspire her viewer.
