Hampton-based artist who draws, paints, creates digital works and portraits! (She, Her, Hers) Loves her work almost as much as the messages behind it. Constantly creating unique pieces that uphold black love, black unity, and black value.
My name is Leah Zhané. I'm 18 years old and I've been submersed in the world of art since I was a little girl. My path, however, didn't begin until my grandmother took me to the Hampton University Art Museum. The image of a black grandfather with his grandson sitting upon his lap, fiddling with an old banjo, was ingrained into my mind. It stood as a constant reminder that people like me are and have always been capable of creating things that conveyed different messages, and passion and heart. Now, I've devoted my work to my own character, my own thoughts, in the hopes that it will someday speak without me present to tell the story.
